LabelIn June 1922, the State Assembly of Thuringia, which had lent money to the Bauhaus, demanded that the fledgling school report on its progress thus far. In response, the Bauhaus mounted its first comprehensive public exhibition—in effect a justification of the school’s existence—in Weimar, Germany, the following summer.
